OTHER STUFF

The projects featured here are suitable for both beginners and experienced builders.

With patience, perseverance, and the ability to use simple hand tools, a digital multimeter (DMM), and a few other odds and ends, YOU will succeed whether you are a novice or an experienced builder.

Experienced builders will, of course, be able to complete the project(s) faster than a beginner, and probably experience fewer "Oopses" along the way.

If the projects shown here are of no interest to you, you might want to check out  TINKER TOOLS because they can be helpful on a wide variety circuit building projects you might want to undertake.

40 Meter Transceiver:  A QRP transceiver that puts out about 2 watts.  This rig features a VFO which is shared by the receiver and transmitter sections, and can be built as separate receiver or transmitter, if you like.  While this rig is (mostly) intended as an introduction to building electronic items, it is capable of providing communications over hundreds or thousands of miles.  It is about as simple as a rig can get other than “novelty” rigs, such as the famous and popular “PIXIE” or "PIXIE 2”.

ADA DIAL: A new kind of "dial" for your home-brew VFO.  This is more of an idea-type article rather than a step-by-step construction project.  The experienced builder, however, can easily reproduce this "dial" and, perhaps, come up with a few improvements.
