These tutorials are intended to help you review, or learn for the first time, a few fundamentals that will help you with building and testing electronic projects. With patience, perseverance, and careful attention to detail, you will be able to build and test the projects presented on this web site with little or no difficulty. There are times, however, when things don't work out quite the way you intended. Yes, this sometimes happens (unless you are very, very good and/or very, very lucky). That’s part of building electronic stuff. What to do? WHAT TO DO??!! Well, you whip out your handy-dandy DMM (and, perhaps, a couple of other pieces of test gear) and take a few measurements to find out what went wrong. This is when a little knowledge can go a long, l-o-n-g way. What you will find in these tutorials is "how to do it" information with very little theory and/or arithmetic. The DIODES tutorial introduces you to semiconductors, . . . . . . and prepares you to learn something about . . . TRANSISTORS Transistors are introduced by looking at how negative, positive, negative (NPN) bipolar transistors can be biased to operate as a common emitter amplifier circuit. SINGLE SIDEBAND (SSB) An introduction to the generation, transmission, and reception of SSB radio signals Additional tutorial material may be added depending upon my whim and, more importantly, feedback received from users, such as yourself.
