Welcome  to  Wanna  Tinker  !

This web site is devoted to learning about Ham Radio in general, and building electronic circuitry in particular.  No knowledge or experience beyond what was required to get your Amateur Radio Operator's license is required.  All the projects are geared toward those who want to rediscover, or discover for the first time, the satisfaction that comes from creating useful Ham Radio equipment, from "scratch".  With patience, perseverance, and the ability to use simple hand tools, a digital multimeter (DMM), and a few other odds and ends, you are certain to succeed.

If you have been wanting to build something and get closer to the techno-soul of Ham Radio, Wanna Tinker is for you.  If the construction articles in Ham Radio publications leave you wondering: "What in the world is this guy talking about"?, Wanna Tinker is for you.   If you want a little different slant on home brewing electronic circuits, Wanna Tinker is for you.  If you have read this far . . .

WANNA  TINKER  IS  FOR  YOU!

In addition to construction projects, items regarding various aspects of Ham Radio will be added from time to time.  For example, I plan to add items such as product reviews of  Ham Radio equipment as well as an occasional editorial.  You can, of course, ignore all this "fluff" and get right to the PROJECTS.

TINKER TOOLS include simple Test Equipment modules you can build to make life easier for you while building the projects.  Even though I have a pretty good inventory of  test equipment, I find myself using these devices more often than the "real" test gear.

TUTORIALS are available to help you review, or learn for the first time, a few fundamentals.  What you will find here is "how to do it" with very little theory and/or mathematics.

PRODUCT REVIEWS are about products for which you are not likely to find reviews anywhere else.

OTHER STUFF is just that - items that may be of interest, such as my rig(s), editorials, opinions, etc.

MARKET PLACE  (sometimes) shows things I have for sale.

So . . .  go to your workbench, fire up your soldering iron, and build something.
